Guest guest
, 3D CAT scans are a few hundred dollars each depending on where you have them done and if you get them done with contrast. Where did you have your surgery? Hope this helps. Shananne

Guest guest
Just heard from the clinic - apparently the MRI of my brain (yay, I've got proof I've got one!) are " normal " . Next step is neuro consults... at least they found enough weirdnesses on physical exam the other day to not just think I'm crazy.... Guest guest
Just the brain so far - one of the things they were looking for was evidence of strokes. Actually, thank God they DIDN'T want to do the spine in this particular machine - my shoulders were smushed up like a taco shell just to get my head far enough in! They're going to have to send me elsewhere for spine... " Re: MRI results Did they do an MRI of the spine as well? Some times the lesions on the spine seem to cause more significant problems than those in the brain. Anyway, it's good they keep investigating, hopefully they will find some answers. There is also a possibility of the diagnosis " atypical MS " (or whatever the equivalent would be in English). It's a diagnosis used when someone has symptoms of MS, but not enough clinical findings to support a " typical " MS diagnosis. The reason for that is because studies have shown that the people with atypical MS are helped by MS medication just as much as those with the typical findings. Therefor it makes sense to use a diagnosis that will " allow " the use of those medications. Congratulations and good luck! love /Reb > > Just heard from the clinic - apparently the MRI of my brain (yay, I've got > proof I've got one!) are " normal " . Guest guest
My darling, until a couple of weeks ago I had not seen a doctor of any kind for anything except a couple of " spot repairs " (stitches, emergency eye surgery) since 1986. After military doctors using me as a " teaching device " (look how easily her joints come apart! Look how far her skin stretches! ) or trying to kill me (ask me about bleeding to death, or how it feels to still be sort of conscious with a blood glucose of 26 ) I would have been very very happy to never experience Medical Care again. But in the last few years, I've experienced pretty much every classic symptom but paralysis and TN, and the symptomology doesn't really " go " with anything else. A clear brain scan IS good on a couple of levels - I ain't got no giant brain tumor, and I apparently have NOT been having strokes. Alas, it's not necessarily indicative of NOT having MS or MG either one (or both!) - just means I don't have visible lesions in my brain.... I don't like to be touched by strangers, I don't like explaining symptoms over and over, I can't stand to travel any more (and every medical resource available to me is at LEAST an hour and a half away on a nice summer day) So I was really really praying for Instant Obvious Diagnosis. Guest guest
Want a really memorable Medical Care experience? Be " in that position " in the middle of a (military ordered) Papp, and have the doctor leave and round up a couple of DOZEN male spectators to check out how your hips come out of joint. For all I know, several of them could have been janitors, cooks, passers-by.... I need to settle down, because now I get to say " No " . But I'm worried that, with the current state of the economy, if something " proveable " doesn't show up soon, I'll be dumped into the hypochondriac pile...
