Guest guest
Wow Sharon this is pretty scary. Maybe the coyote was hurt and the sound you heard was him crying. Now a bobcat too? I’m so sorry to hear about Pistol. Hopefully he’s held up somewhere until he thinks it’s safe to come out. I had a cat that didn’t come home for 3 days, and finally she wandered in. If you are having those other intruders and he’s an inside cat he’s probably hiding. I think my cat got chased up a tree and then when she thought it was safe to come down she raced home. Hopefully that’s the case for yours too. Doesn’t animal control come up there and search for wild animals? I know probably a stupid questions since you live in the mountains, but can’t you get someone to help you track these animals and do something about them? Or is it everyone fends for their own?Hugs, Jackie From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of SharonSent: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 7:51 PMTo: GroupSubject: coyotes and bobcats (and a missing kitty) We are having a continuing problem with coyotes. One woke me in the early hours before dawn this morning with the strangest yips/howls. It was right on the road out front. It was yipping a lot then the yipping turned to howling. The howling turned into the strangest sound I have ever heard from a coyote! It sounded like a baby calf. How odd. I got my flashlight and stepped out on the front porch and that scared it off. We are also having problems with a bobcat. We have seen the tracks and knew it looked like bobcat tracks. This evening a neighbor down the road said he saw a very large bobcat in his yard last night. One of our cats got outside several days ago and never came back. We don't know what got her--it could have been the lone large coyote that is terrorizing the area, the large hawk that we have spotted or an owl. Poor kitty. She was 9 years old and lived through Alaska and the many eagles, wolves and bears--then something here gets her. Her name was " Pistol " and her owner was . He named her when he was a little boy smitten with cowboys and their pistols:) hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
It's "fend for yourselves", as you put it Jackie:) Animal Control will come out if a dog has been dumped or is lost. I had to call Animal Control three times on dumped/lost dogs. One was a pit bull and he had to go. Another was a husky mix that was very, very sweet but wanted to eat our chickens--so she had to go. Another had a tag so Animal Control picked him up to get him home to his owner.I hope Pistol will find her way back! There is always hope:)hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
