For all the political talk of making reductions of wait times for medical

services a priority, there has been virtually no improvement over the past

three years for the millions of Canadians who long to gain prompt access to

the system, according to newly published data.

Statistics Canada found that about one in four Canadians who required

immediate care for a minor health problem experienced difficulties. The

agency also looked at access to specialized care, and found waits that

routinely extended beyond three months....
