I'm seriously thinking of auctioning off my legs on Ebay as at this

present time they are completely useless to me, so I may as well

make some money form them yeah?! What do you reckon to this

advert: " One pair of legs for sale, slightly warn and bent - may

need some attention. One not so careful owner but full service

history is available via the NHS. Variety of colours available

depending on stages of bruising from numerous and freaky injuries,

even comes with a choice of braces, casts, and splints, perfect for

every occasion. " I should be swamped with offers shouldn't I? lol

As you may have gathered I am finding coping with my ankle cast and

it's knock on effects to my other joints, rather difficult and very

painful. My left leg, especially the knee, is screaming as I'm

having to put far more weight through it than it can really take and

my poor left arm feels like I've been bench pressing all afternoon

from the strain of using a crutch again for the first time in about

2 years. I have a horrible feeling that if my ankle damage is really

serious and Mac wants me to spend lengthy time in plaster or even

have surgery, I am going to end up using a wheelchair just to avoid

killing the rest of my poor body coping with it. Oh well, I'm

spending tomorrow on the sofa and hoping for some good news on

Wednesday.

Speaking of good news, I did actually get some from the hospital

today (would you believe my 5th straight day of visiting the place,

some of the staff don't spend that amount of time there!!) In spite

of my aches and pains, I accompanied my Mom to her Ortho appt this

afternoon as she was very nervous about the possibility of further

casting or even surgery to pin her broken foot. Well, the news was

just fantastic for a change as her bone is healing very well indeed

and she is no longer even in plaster now! She is very sore still and

her foot/ankle is stiff from the immobilisation (she is mad that I

don't get stiff from immobilisation/casting because of my EDS

though!!) but she's thrilled to be out of plaster and hoping that

things continue to get better from here on. I am so pleased for her

as we were all worried about her healing because of the

Osteoporosis.

Have to confess that although I obviously wouldn't have wished a

broken foot on her, I am kind of pleased something positive has come

from the situation. Mom has found using the crutches and coping with

her foot a lot harder than she expected and claims it has given her

a whole new perspective on how difficult things are for me 24/7. It

has driven her mad for a month, so she can't comprehend what it must

be like to have been on crutches for five years now. It probably

sounds nasty of me, but I'm sort of grateful she's been given the

chance to experience a little taster in a way...does that make me a

bad person?

Anyway, enough of my inane babbling. thanks again for your support

and thoughts - I honestly know I couldn't get through any of the

trials life is throwing my way right now without you all. Thinking

of you all and always here for you any time you need a hug.

Love.....Jo
