Guest guest
Hi Jacks, Is it worth it? Without a doubt! The only alternatives are to live with the pain or THR and with that you will have more restrictions for a longer period. I didn't have any trouble remembering the restrictions. Your body will help you remember. My surgeon doesn't recommend physio but has a number of exercises and stretches that help restore range of motion and strength. Returning to work depends on the individual, the kind of work you do, your ability to get to work and quite possibly your surgery. (I believe that there may be slight differences in how each of the surgeons perform the resurfacing surgery which may affect recovery.) For me sitting for a long period was the most difficult. Recommendations: be in good shape prior to surgery and do what is recommended by your surgeon during recovery whether that be physio or a list of selected exercises and stretches and be as active as is comfortable. If you over do it, your body will let you know, then back off a little bit. You will not regret having your hip resurfaced. At your age it is by far your best option.
