I got off the blood thinners a week and a half after surgery. I had the

injectable kind and I ran out of body fat to poke the needle in. It was

getting too painful and I was getting huge bruises. Dr. De Smet said I

could stop as long as I wasn't lying around in bed all day and was fairly

active. I also stopped wearing the teds at the same time because my partner

had a family emergency and had to leave town. I couldn't get the operated

side on by myself. I'm still alive. As far as clunking goes, I have never

had any audible clunking, just an occasional clunking feeling. I kind of

like it. I am in my 9th month post op.

I realized the other day that I've been putting my underwear and socks on

without even thinking. It's funny that I didn't even notice and I have no

idea for how long I've been doing it.
