July or August Picnic for LA Surfers (and surfer wannabes)

I've checked into a few parks in West LA and the best seems to be

Rustic Canyon in Santa /Palisades. It is a really beautiful

park with good facilities. Saturdays tend to be less crowded

there. I also called Rancho park in Cheviot Hills but the girl

there was very discouraging about the crowds on weekends. For any

tennis players, Rustic has free courts. If anyone has any other

suggestions, please contact me directly. I would be open to July

31st, or any Saturday in August.
