Guest guest Posted February 16, 2011 Report Share Posted February 16, 2011 I always enjoyed the wording of some of the old enabling laws for local fire departments that read, in part: " to prevent the spread of the conflagration, the officer in command may cause buildings to be removed, torn down or destroyed in the best manner possible including the use of explosives. " Broad powers in an emergency are not necessarily new, just more visible...
