Medicare help line deluged by questions

A help line the government is advertising on TV to help seniors sort through

the complexities of new Medicare discount cards is being overwhelmed by the

volume of calls, causing waits of sometimes as long as an hour... " It is a

hysterical amount of confusion, " said Tony Fransetta, president of the

Florida Alliance of Retired Americans, the state chapter of a national

nonprofit advocacy group. " People don't know what to do. " ... " This is just

adding confusion for seniors, " he said. " It's not saving them any real

money. " ...
