Guest guest
Aloha Mina, I'm a patient of Dr. Schmalzried, C+ 1/21/02, and am happy to share any feedback that may help you. Do you have specifics or just a general set of comments regarding my experiences w/ Dr. S??? Advise. On short order, he is skilled, experienced, competent, and young enough so that I am confident he will be around to follow me into my future should I need his services/expertise as time passes. I was extremely apprehensive about the whole process. I've spent the better part of my life as a surfer...the ocean wave type!...and the prospect of losing that in my life was an enormous burden. Resurfacing was an option that offered many possibilities that I felt exceeded a THR and I choose JRI due to proximity to Hawaii, reputation, and experience w/ resurfacing. I viewed Dr. Amstutz as an icon for this procedure and choose his younger protoge. His (Dr. Schmalzried) record/resume speaks for itself, and his manners and demeanor spread confidence, care, knowledge, and experience. On first meeting I can honestly say that his presence, attentiveness, ability to address my questions etc...completely dispelled any stress and apprehension I carried forth. I felt confident that my decision was a good one and maintain that sentiment more than two years later. I hope one guy's opinion assists you in your decision. Best to you. Sincerely, Dan Schulte Dan > HI, just wanted to ask in case anybody here has heard of and has been > a patient if Dr. Schmalzried? > > His name was given to me by a friedn helping me research my options, > any advice/ input about him would be much appreciated. > > Thank you. > > Mina

Guest guest
Hi Mina I had both hips resurfed by Dr. S nearly 3-years ago. They are functioning perfectly and I recovered well from a very difficult surgery. Dan from Hawaii said it well, Dr. S is a great dos who strives to be the very best. Also, he is not in love with himself like some top docs are. You just have to meet the guy and judge for yourself. bilat C+, Dr. S, July
