Guest guest
I've been a member of the group for 18 months now and have really appreciated the advice and guidance given to myself and reading that given to others. However I will shortly be leaving the group as I am now 5 days post op from a BHR but unfortunately my hip was too far gone to resurface and I have had to have a a THR. I thought I would have been really upset, however after the initial tears in the recovery room I have put all my energy into getting better. I am now 6 days post op, home and cannot believe how well I feel. The back pain has gone, no more arthritic pain and no pain walking - I still feel lucky to be in this position. I just have a bit!! of swelling from the waist to my ankle, has anyone any suggestions to relieve this. What I would like to say to anyone in the UK who is reading this who may have been advised to wait as long as possible before having surgery is that this is poor advice and has lead to me having a replacement rather than a resurface. However if the worst comes to the worst and you have to have a THR you can still feel fantasitic and look forward to life afterwards - as I am. So I would just like to say goodbye to everyone and good luck with your surgery and recovery. I will miss seeing all your familiar names. Kind regards and thank you for all the support you have given me (sometines without even knowing). Joy RTHR Sheffield 16/6/
