Dear members,

Thanks a lot for the information provided.

I was about to go for THR then one Doctor in Dubai advised me there

is an alternate to THR and I came to know about this group.

I have done (265.01.2004) BHR on my right leg at Madras in India.

Dr. Bose did the surgery, it lasted for about 3 hours. Dr Bose is a

fantastic person, I did not feel any pain after the surgery.

After 7 days I flied to my home in Jaipur, India.

It is almost 5 months post surgery, I go for a walk every day for

about 30 miniutes, yesterday I walked for more than an hour.

Thanks god no pain at all.

My wife tells me I limp while walking, But if I control my steps and

walk slowly, limping is not visible.

I don't know, prior to surgery I used to limp a lot, may be it has

become a habit or style of my walking.

Do any one of you have such expirience ?

Thanks

Sharma

Hi Shama,

Removing the limp is one of my big hurdles too............... Habits die

hard and then there is the business that certain muscles have shortened

and/or are just not functioning as intended from years of not doing it

properly due to pain etc...............

Do you have access to reasonable physio services or people with some idea on

exercise training............??? I say this because while just walking will

strengthen, concentration on specific muscles appears to help

more.........and while there is a heap of exercises available on the net, I

think most of us need someone with an eye to the problem to advise where to

start with what muscles etc.............

I have a slight limp too and I can get most of it to go away if I

concentrate.

However, I think my leg might be slightly longer after the operation

which will help contribute to the limp.
