Guest guest
Hi everyoneI know, always the last one to update or anything. Mom and I are both doing okay, we went to with my brother and his family last Saturday. A bit tired from the trip, but then again, it's normal for old age, right??? I finally persuaded Mom to take my walker, now with a bit of steroids in for the hips that give her trouble, and a walker, boy, could she move. I had trouble keeping up with her. I took a dose of Tramadol (morphine) for the pain, but still was too slow for that old lady. No more steroids for her!!! Anyway, I tried the cane, actually I didn't do too bad with it, considering that I have trouble some days just to get out of bed. So we were exhausted after the day, but it was still fun and great to get out. Now is about 30 to 45 minutes drive from Mossel Bay. Just far enough to go. After we got home, we just fell into our beds. Still are trying to get back our strength. LOLOh yeah, I will attach a link of Africa's Map as well as South Africa's Map. Now remember, I live in South Africa, not in Africa. Hey, the rest of Africa is such far off places in my mind, that I can't even imagine ever going there.http://www.escapeartist.com/Live_In_Africa/Map_Of_Africa/Africa_6_97.jpg The continent Africa, andhttp://www.sa-venues.com/maps/free-maps/sa-giveaway-map.gifthe map of South Africa where I actually live. You will even be able to see Mossel Bay, the town where I live and you will see as well, the place we sometimes go to for an outing. So if you put South Africa next to USA, you will have a lot of fun. Because I think there is a few states that are actually larger than South Africa. LOLAnyway, back to the update. The weather is starting to get warmer, but ooh, I hate the wind. It's funny, because in SA, August is usually the windy month. Oops, somehow no one reminded the wind about that. Now a days, it starts to blow from September right through to December. Now in December we usually have a lot of action here and in Hartenbos, the town almost next to us. There are little tents in the streets with some great things to buy, etc. Now usually the wind blows their tents away, it happens each year. Shame, no fun at all.Mom and I are still planning on painting our house, haven't started that yet. But if the wind blows like this, I can assure you, I won't paint. The last time I painted the house I worked through the wind, but I'm not that eager anymore to work in windy weather. Yuck!!!Last week we moved my "study", yeah, all my favorite things are in there, keyboard, huge table and PC. Now living at the coast is sometimes a little bad, because we have trouble with the black mold here. Ooh, everything has it. So the walls look awful. We got this new spray that takes it off without too much effort or rubbing. Anyway, Einstein, that I am, sprayed on a large part, when I finally got to the wiping off part, I saw that it made these huge dripping stripes that took the paint off as well. Oh well, can't win with everything. Anyway, at the last part I finally got brains, yippeeee, that only happens once every 6 years. I figured out to spray the solution on my sponge and then just wipe the walls with it. So when I get to my room, oh give me a few days rest, please, I will remember not to spray it on the walls. Although it may be nice to paint the walls again. The next day after the moving part, and was it tough, because my brother put in a new rug as well. Hope the word is correct. LOL There was some of the furniture that couldn't be moved outside the room, so while he was lifting the furniture, we were trying to put the rug underneath it, a real team work. The next day I had these strange spasms in my back and it felt a bit stiff as well. But it still felt great. I'm not sure if anyone else feel like me, but somehow I love it when I hurt all over, and at least I've done something. It's so much more fun to hurt and know what you've done, than just hurting without any reason. It's a satisfying hurt all over feeling. And besides, it hurt less that other days when I've done nothing at all.Chameleon world. Somehow there are a few new teenagers, finally showing their colors and easier to give names to and to remember them. So we have Kwaai Babatjie (Mad/Angry little Baby), he moved to the jasmine bush, a bit more bushy and better than the bougainvillea where he used to live. And there's a new teenager. Bradley!!! Yip, my niece, Karina, named him. Now it's the name of a boy in her class that she has a crush on, not perfect for a little chameleon, but hey, she's happy with the name. Well, Bradley seems to be happy in the Orange tocommo that I put him in. Mini-Blaartjie the one that sleeps in the fern, can keep an eye on him, and show off his muscles to intimidate the poor little one. Mini-Blaartjie still sleeps in the fern at night, with this wind he won't be happy sleeping outside. Although I've notice that he climbs over to Knerses's and Baby's Rocky Horror Tocomo tree, so he's living dangerously. Still no new babies that I've seen, but Baby's tummy is huge, and she drinks water every chance that she gets. One day I had to stop trouble before it began, because Mini-Knerses and Knerses was moving towards each other on the wall of the neighbors. So I was just in time to keep them apart. Otherwise there would be trouble. They are very competitive and always bragging about which one is the largest. Showing off their muscles. LOL I one day caught Mini-Knerses hanging upside down in the one tree, and a few steps further was Knerses, also hanging upside down. Not sure if they wanted to see who will hang on the longest, but anyway, both hanging upside down and checking each other out. They are very strange little creatures, and very adorable. They amaze me each day and I can't think of surviving one day without them, they are very funny, each with their own unique personality and little things they do. Funny to see them in action.Oh yeah, been to the doctor again last Thursday, finally my blood pressure is under control. So now I need to go back in 6 months time for our usual renewal of the prescription. Great, no more doctors. I was starting to hate the idea, had to see them 4 times in 3 month's time. Terrible.I got the part where I gave my favorite nurse the permission to stick a hole in my finger to check my blood sugar. Never had that done before in my life, hey, it's a needle!!!! Well, it didn't hurt at all and my blood sugar is 4.5. Normal, great. I was worried about being on Prednisone for the past 10 1/2 years. Yip, a very long time. I even asked the doctor about checking for cholesterol and underactive thyroid. Do you know what he said??? Well, I think we'll do that tests when we do another blood test, no need to try and find an artery now. Can you believe it??? In the past they loved to scare me with their needles, now that I'm getting over my fear, they're not interested in my blood anymore. LOL Just goes to show.Okay, now that was a very long email, or like someone told me, a novel. LOLSo take care and be good. I'll be back with my novel with the next update time, and hopefully I will be painting by then.Love you all & Mom

Guest guest
Hi Sharon & AkibaWell, Akiba, I love food, but seafood, yuck, when it stares at me, you can have it. I just eat fish. Yeah, very silly living by the sea, but don't eat strange seafood.Sharon, I'm glad that you enjoy all my silly stories. I must admit, I felt a bit tired, but for once, it was a great tired feeling. Like that will make any sense, but I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. It's awful to feel tired from nothing, when you've done too much, it's a great feeling. So take care, be good and love you all.
