I also have had trouble with all the things you listed, although perhaps not to the same degree. 1) My sense of taste has definitely changed recently. It has diminished (not completely gone) and my likes and dislikes as far as food is concerned are different. My sense of smell has also decreased. 2) I have had trouble breathing for about 5 years now. I've always described it as needing to, but not being able to take a deep breath. It can happen at any time. If I'm laying down it sometimes helps to sit up. I used to run every day, but instead of my breathing improving as I 'got in shape', it got worse. It was very frustrating. 3) I, too, have had increasing trouble with swallowing. It only happens occasionally, and it never gets to the point where something gets stuck for any length of time. Only for a moment. 4) My neck and shoulder pain recently has been worse than ever, to the point where I can no longer work. Nothing has ever touched the pain. I don't really have any advice. I'm in the process of finding a NSG to work with. But if nothing else, I hope you don't feel alone in your symptoms. in Michigan ?? Hi to all, I haven't posted in ages but need to get some perspective with the help of others in the group. I have recently had more and more difficulty with new symptoms not before noticed. Here they are: 1) Loss of most of sense of taste 2) Increased trouble breathing (feels like I can't get enough air...) 3) Trouble with swollowing. Things go down a ways and then just get stuck... hurts like the dickens. Sometimes standing up and walking around helps some, but most often I just have to wait until the swollow mechanism kicks back in. 4) Much more pain with very little relief from narcotics. I have not had surgery, and now cannot afford the cost of the procedure. I am enrolled in a local 'free' pain clinic, but will have medicare starting in March. I need a good local neurologist who will work with me for all of my new and old issues. I live north of chicago and can't drive for long periods. Anyone out there know of anyone good? Finally, after 11 months I still haven't been paid back money owed to me by SSDI. Has anyone else waited that long? Thanks in advance, hope everyone is doing as well as possible.
