Before I ask yet another question of you knowledgeable people I

would like to say a big thank you for all the advice and support you

have given me. I know I would'nt have had the courage to go ahead

with my op and the peace of mind to get through these last three

weeks. Grovelling over now can I ask another question - is there a

limit I wonder!!! When is it advisable to go on to one crutch? I am

3 wekks post op and am able to walk with one crutch but my family

say I limp more when doing so. Should I therefore stick to two for a

little while longer. Thanks Cheryl x

Hi Cheryl,

That is usually a question for the OS........... some OS are more cautious

than others and some of us have had work done on the hip that necessitates

keeping crutches........... without knowing what was actually done none of

us can advise on what is best for you personally..........

At 3 weeks one would expect you will still limp - all the liagments and

muscle tissue usually needs a full 6 weeks to heal properly............ and

pushing it too early isn't a great idea...........far easier to push once

the healing is done..........
