Guest guest
Hi all, This weekend I managed to borrow a memory stick which has 64 MB of space to store files, power point presentations etc. It is a tiny little thingie which comes with a band so you can hang it around your neck. We just bought it to use at the Psoriasis Association, but several branches have had theirs for a while and use them a lot. I have never tried using one before, but I will test it before I go to the conference, so I know exactly how it works. So, what I will be doing while at the conference, is to go to each lecturer/speaker and ask if I can have a copy of their presentation to have as notes for myself and to share with others who could not be there. This is the purpose we got it for in the Psoriasis Association, and we (meaning the branches and also ourselves this weekend at a congress in Finland) have not experienced any " MD Speaker " saying no to this, they are more than happy to share (we have got presentations from Norwegian doctors and also doctors from other European countries etc.). I hope the same goes for the doctors at the EDNF conference!!! The stick is around 2 " long, it is smaller than a pinkie finger. At the end it has a USB plug. You just plug it into the USB port of the laptop/computer, and copy the file onto it - really easy. So, with this, the digital cameras, ordinary notes (there we could try to focus on what is being said in addition to what is on the presentation - e.g. answers to special questions of general interest etc.) etc. - we should really be up to being able to share the knowledge from the conference with you others, so that as many of us can enjoy the information being shared at the conference. How we are going to do it after the conference, we can discuss when we get there. I am sure that by sticking our heads together, we can find a good way of doing it. I am thinking that it would be nice if we could gather all the pieces of information from everybody into some sort of info. package... Maybe if some person could get all the files and stuff them for distribution via e-mail and/or burn them onto CD's (not everybody has a fast Internet connection, then a CD would be better)... Something like that... Anyway, just wanted to let you know, that we at least now know that we have a way of storing files from the conference. Combined with notes we make, it should be great!!!
