I put my sofa up on 2 X 4 blocks before I left for surgery. Got it to the

height where I didn't have to struggle at all to get up or sit down. I

kept it like that for as long as I had to follow the 90 degree rule -- 6

weeks. Went I'd go visit others, it was really difficult to sit down and

sink into a sofa. I also put a piece of 1/2 " plywood under my sofa

cushions. In fact, I slept a fair amount on that sofa (when I could sleep,

that is) Joyce
