Guest guest
A duckling was hatched early this morning. Unfortunately the momma duck "Cookie" decided she didn't like it. Momma chicken is setting eggs but she doesn't want the duckling either. So my 15 year old granddaughter brought the baby duckling inside to care for it. I didn't think it was going to make it but it is finally holding up it's little head and just drank water for the first time. I'll get photos soon to share. Right now it is black with a black bill and a yellow bib. There's nothing like a baby duckling to keep my 15 year old granddaughter happy and make her smile:)hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Oh, how cute...I would of loved seeing that little duckling, but I can imagine it... Today, we found a little bird egg between the flowers. We are now waiting for mamma to come, but she hasn't until now. We don t know what we' re going to do. Its so exciting to experience such things which we cant see in city life... Guest guest
The little duckling in the house is doing great. I am actually surprised because it was such a little weak thing when we brought it in. Now it's trying to get out of the brooder box, peeping like crazy and poking it's little head out to look at us. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Aww, that sounds adorable. One of my friends just recently moved to Florida, and a duck laid her eggs by their a/c unit. Momma duck left, and the ducklings hatched from the heat of the a/c unit. Luckily, momma duck came back three days later, and accepted her ducklings. Then she laid three more eggs! Tina. Guest guest
What a funny story about the "AC ducks"! I wonder where the momma duck was for that time? Odd! Guest guest
I have no idea! I just know my friend was very relieved when Momma duck came back and took her ducklings back. It was going to be three days before the wildlife department could take the ducklings, and my friend was so worried that they'd die! Tina What a funny story about the " AC ducks " !
