Guest guest
Hi all. This is amazing (to me anyway) My dad has had terrible problems with his sight since he was a little boy. He missed a whole year of school because of his eyes and some crazy infection and stuff. The dr's then told his mom that he would be blind before his teens. With the help of a really good eye dr. he had special glasses made and were changed every couple of months. He never went completely blind although he's legally blind without his 'coke-bottle' glasses on. He was unable to get laser surgery because of the size/shape of his eyeball and for the last couple years, his sight had gotten a lot worse. After waiting for almost a year, he had cataract/lens replacement surgery on Thursday. They had to construct a special lens because of the severity of his lack of sight. He just had one eye done on Thursday and when he got the bandages off yesterday, he walked out of the dr's office without his glasses on. He now has 20/20 vision in the eye that was operated on. He hopes to get the other eye done as soon as possible. I just had to share my excitement and happiness for my dad. He's almost 60 and gets this gift, after the hell he went through all his life.
