We are so sorry to hear about Mr. Canal. I am sure there are many people in

East Texas EMS who are affected by this as well as his family and friends. Our

thoughts and prayers from PERCOM are with all.

Although not a previous poster, I had to write on this.

Iam deeply saddened to hear of the Josh's passing. I was a student of Jane's

in 2008 and did placements with ETMC. Josh was what we would call " a

character " and really was an inspiration - as both a paramedic and as a

survivor.

He spoke with great courage about his own health difficulties, and used his

own experiences to empathize so well with patients. I could not believe how

much he had been through and how far he had come, and his absolute optimism.

He put me to shame with his energy when it came to some of the more

physically difficult elements of Emergency Care.

Josh was one of the people I was looking forward to getting to hopefully

work with when I return to Texas. His enthusiasm and non-conventional method

of sharing his knowledge were wonderful to experience.
