Guest guest
Great idea Steve. A checklist of possible ideas, hints and suggestions issomething I had thought of too as even the smallest ideas can help make life easier eg the 2nd pair of Teds, a sock " putter-onner " , baggy underwear !!!! etc. I didnt even know that being absolutely numb around the wound was quite normal - thought the icepacks had frozen me rock solid! My hospital gave me a 7 day diary of expectations for boht BHR and THR which I found useful. This group is a superb formof communication. Thanks again to eveyone out there. It's occurred to me that an FAQ (list of Frequently Asked Questions) might not be a bad idea, either. Guest guest
Great Idea! I made a lot of changes and investments before surgery. I found that a metal long shoe horn works much better than the plastic one the hospital gives you. It also doubles for a foot scratcher. Plastic shower seat, bars and a height adjustable shower head have also proved useful. A bag (knit grocery bag) worn around my neck is a must! Until the staples were removed I wore knee length t-shirts and no undies. I salute the people who have little or no help the first week or so.
