Where in Canada Does the Medical Plan Cover Resurfacing?

I was put on an 18 month waiting list in Vancouver but I do not want

to wait that long. I did learn that Ontario's medical plan covers

the procedure, but is that for residents only of Ontario? What

about Alberta? I do not want to go to England, Belgium, or India

yet but if I cannot have it done here in Canada sooner and covered

by our medical plan I may have to reconsider. Any advice? The

author of some good stories on this procedure had her hip resurfaced

by a doctor in Vancouver that had not done one before hers. What do

you think about a doctor who has only done 1 or 2 of these

procedures? Thanks for any opinions or suggestions.
