Thank you so much for all your very kind words, advice and support -

I honestly don't think I could get through the rough times without

the wonderful encouragement and understanding of the amazing people

I'm lucky to have in my life. That is one of those true blessings I

have that Lana talked about and I truly am grateful to be so blessed

with my CEDA family. It's because of you guys that I am doing okay

and finding my anger and sadness is giving way to my old

determination and bloody-mindedness to make the best of whatever

situation I end up facing. I mean just think of the shaving cream I

would save if they did amputate my leg! ;-)

My knee is still pretty sore today, but there's not a lot that can

be done for it sadly so they've got me protecting it with my cast

splint and taking pain meds to see if it eases. Hopefully it will

just go back being normally agonising and useless again lol. I'm

hoping that my eventual stay with Prof Bird will help to move things

on with my wheelchair situation and deciding what we do with my

legs. (Thanks for the wheelchair pep talk Aase - you're a complete

star!)I'll keep you posted I promise.

I went up to the hospital to see Mac today, but due to a mistake in

appointments it turns out I was given a slot when Mac is on annual

leave - he will go ballistic when he finds out! Thankfully I was

able to see Mac's ortho team, whom I know and get on well with

though. Things seem to be going good with my shoulder so far and

they are happy with the way things are progressing. They still want

to closely monitor and restrict my rehab, but are very impressed

with my effort and hard work. It was so good to have some positive

feedback from ortho for a change!

Sadly the news on my wrist isn't so good, as they are very worried

about the poor thing. They are completely baffled at how I have

fractured my Scaphoid from the tyoe of dislocation I have had, as

Scaphoids are usually caused by an impact injury. They removed my

cast to have a good examination of my arm and were incredibly

concerned about the amount of pain I'm having on exam and movement,

leading them to suspect that the fracture is only part of the

problem and I actually have serious ligament damage from the

dislocation as well. I've been booked in for an urgent MRI which

will hopefully be in the next week or so and want me to return in 4

weeks to see Mac and a hand specialist they are going to consult

about my rather unusual situation. So I've been put back into a cast

again, but thankfully they've made it like a removable splint in

order for the MRI techs to do my scans...and to allow me to take a

proper shower without a plastic bag!

LOL - It's just as well I know the MRI guys as they'd think I'm

stalking them otherwise - this will be my third MRI in 6 months! I

also have a bone densitometry scan on Tuesday afternoon and

extensive x-rays studies booked too, so I'm guessing I might not

need to use a night light for a few weeks! Anyway, that's where I'm

at right now - I promise to keep you posted as and when I find

things out though. Thank you again for all your support. Please take

care and know that I'm thinking of you and always here for anyone,

anytime too!

Love and hugs.....Jo
