Guest guest
Wow, I wish we had theatres like that here. Out of curiosity, how much does it cost to get in there? It's ridiculous how expensive it is here but then there is really no competition. This HP must be great because you're the 3rd person who's preferred it to the book and that''s really rare ... hugs, Cait Early appointment tomorrowI have no clue what possessed me to make my psychiatrist appointment at 9:45 am. I'm never up that early unless I can't sleep. But I did, so tomorrow I have to be there. But, that will give us the opportunity to do some more running (like getting my glasses and hitting the grocery store) before it heats up to 110 degree heat index. My husband is wondering why I don't go outside - yet he's seen what's happening to me when we are out. Yeah, thanks, I'll just stay inside unless I need to go out. It was bad enough going out into the heat to get to the car when we went to see Harry Potter last night.Tina
Guest guest
We went to a little local theater that is not 3-d compatable - not the new 3D anyway - so there weren't as many people there. Hubby pre-ordered the tickets because a week and a half before the opening Fandango said 2000 showing were already sold out. I couldn't believe it. As far as liking the books better than the movies - well, what I have to do is view the movies as totally separate entities - although these movies have been very, very good and true to the books. But I like most books better than the movies, and well, some movies are pure heresy if you compare them to the books they were based on. I have to do the same with the Lord of the Rings movies, especially since I play an online game based on the books. But every time I look at the movies coming from the book reader's perspective, yes, I admit did a fantastic job for the most part, but other parts, well, he made crap up and it ticked me off. I can understand leaving stuff out, but changing one character for another, or making up elves at a battle that had no elves for no better reason than your writer liked elves gets me going. Tina I saw the last Harry Potter film (terrific) with my two youngest granddaughters, andtheir mother today. We LOVED it. We went to a theater in El Cerrito (near Berkeley) that has rocking chairs, loung chairs and tables, and FOOD! This was today; I just got home a few minutes ago.Love to you all,n, who liked all the films better than the books, though they are good, too....
