Can anybody help with me with the different resuface implant designs.

device vs. Corin and so on? So far, I've only talked to Dr.

Amstutz at JRI and he of course believes heavily in the

medical device. I'm not sure about the advantages of some of the

others. How does one choose which one will be best?

The differences are minor. All the resurfacing implants currently in

use are made of the same material (ASTM F75 high carbide content

Cobalt-Chrome-Molybdenum alloy). There are some differences in heat

treatment and other details of the manufacturing process. The design

of the Corin and devices is quite similar. There's no long term

clinical evidence which suggests that any of these devices is superior.

One chooses a surgeon and uses the device he prefers.
