Guest guest
~~ I can tell you for me that my doc tried to put me on MS Contin because I needed more of the Oxy Contin. That was a total bust for me because I was allergic . really allergic, throat closed, hives the whole bit. so he changed my Rx back to Oxy but with a different twist. He ordered my max per day at 160mg but to be taken at my need. They are ordered at 20 mg doses so I can take as little as 20mg per day up to 160mg depending on my pain level. This is working great for me as I can use the sliding scale for ME! It just might be time for you to change to a different " brand " to see if that gives you better relief on smaller doses. My question to you is .. Are YOU worried about your level meds? Debbi By the way. I have IT band syndrome too. It is a bitch especially when it gets stuck. I understand the kind of pain you have. Guest guest
From: Pedersen To: CEDA Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2004 11:53 PM Subject: Re:morphine?TJ long.....sorry .... I was told that he wanted to be careful about how high a dose I could have since I am young (am only 31 now, so I am nothing like your son Cindy)..... >>>Definatly a concern for all of us, not just kids on narcotics. ...When I was at the 60mg my pain level was 8 1/2 to 9 and the 80mg has put me to 7 1/2 to 8. It may not sound like much but every little bit helps. >>>That is a big differance when your living it! .... A friend of mine who is on long acting pills on doses that sound high asked her dr if onxycontin was viable option for her and she had tried the MS Contin but it made her very very itch. He told her the oxycontin was stronger. If anyone understands any of this please tell me >>> I don't understand what you want to be made clear. Are you asking if Oxycontin or MS contin is stronger? ....Also I am not trying to say my pain is worse then anyones or my pills stronger I just want to undrstand things. Saying what my pain level is I was actually empathising with Dylan, I have no desire to do anything. >>>>This sydrome affects us all so differently pain wise. For some it is an annoyance, and for others it's debilitating. ....I try to find a way to be semi comfortable and if I find a position I stay in it as long as I can.I just hope that when i fianlly get my IT Bands removed I will have some relief, the dr wasn't really giving me a lot of hope. >>>IT Bands removed?!? I didn't know that could be done. Seems like that would leave any one terribbly unstable in the hips and knees. ...When i finally have my shoulderblade refused and whatever wor done on the front I know I will have some relief as I did last time. I just wonder what he will do to my right shoulder because his biggest fear is me having both shoulders completely fused or ne all fused and one half. It scares me too but I will try anything. >>>I Guess anything beats living in all this constant pain. I wish they'd offer Dylan an option to fix something instead of all these meds. So, I'm not sure what your asking to understand. I'd be glad to help if I can. Just ask again. Cindylouwho
