Jo,

you are NOT alone in this one I subluxed/ dislocated my hip watching

TV back in January 2003 and I was sitting up in a chair watching TV

with my feet/legsup on a footstool and I moved my Right leg about

10cm's and bang out it went and I slid onto the floor screaming and

lay there, i wouldn't let Owen touch me and managed (SOMEHOW) to

slither on my back flat on the floor up the hall etc into my bedroom

and to slide into bed without bending or moving much (it took me over

an hour) I should have called an ambulance but was VERY stubborn and

was truly new to all of this and then was told that I had also got

some of the fascia and stuff stuck in the socket as was put on bed

rest for 2 months (I was naughty and didn't do strict bed rest (well

with Owen not home during the day and no nurses or cleaners or cooks

etc I had to get up) and it took me AGES to recover and MANY

Osteopath treatments to get it beter (still plays up but NOTHING like

what it was) I did end up in the ER a few weeks later when the pain

got so bad I was so sick from it and then started these HUGE

myoclonic jerks through my entire leg from the hip (Can you say OUCH).

Sorry to hear you too are going through this as I know first hand how

PAINFUL it can be, try to lie flat and still for a couple of days to

let it rest and see the ER or a doc if the pain gets to bad or you

get concerned.

Oh, Jo -- familiar to me. For instance, when a rib slipped out, audibly, in

church Christmas Eve...and, too, my hips that can choose the most, well, sedate

times to decide to part ways...I'm sorry you're becoming familiar with it...
