Guest guest
JackieYea for valium:) Have you been to this dentist before? If not, how did you pick her? I do need to see the dentist but that's not the cause of my TN, unfortunately. The last time I saw a dentist was just over a year ago. It was a terrible appointment and he hurt me so bad. He did a root canal and I felt a great deal of pain. I've had root canals before but never, ever felt pain before. That was the first (and ONLY) time I've been to that dentist. I was so shaken when I left the dentist and, in retrospect, I know I was in shock. I hurt so bad. He was a crappy, mean dentist! The worst part is he had been recommended to me. That appointment sent me into a 3 month MS flare and TN flare. I'm sure glad you have a good dentist to see!!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I took some valium before I went, and the weather was beautiful. Sunny and warm, but low humidity so the warmness didn’t affect me. It felt good. It’s always hard getting in and out of the van as the height doesn’t allow for much head room. That causes a little anxiety because I’m afraid I will bang my head getting in and out. I end up having Steve guide me in and out and I dip my head down and grab the top of the door and that helps. I still have a problem with the tilting when you have to go down or up a ramp. I feel like I’m going to fall out of the chair. The company that made the chair for me was supposed to get me a seatbelt for the chair but they never did. I like my chair and I think if I went out more I would get use to the sensations that are unfamiliar. I’ll be glad when I can get a full size van with a lift. J So back to the dentist appt. My 2 right lower molars are both infected, so she couldn’t do any work until I do a round of antibiotics, and so we have next Fri. scheduled for 2 root canals, a buildup, and 2 crowns. Luckily I have good insurance. That’s only the right bottom. I also have an upper right molar that needs the same treatment. And probably a few cavities to fix also. After all of those are taken care of, we will have to address the left side. It’s been 15 yrs since I’ve had any work done, so I knew there would be a lot of stuff that needed fixed. I’ve never had any abscesses so I was surprised a little that I had 2. But with the way those two molars hurt it was logical. Sharon I was wondering about your TN. Are you sure it’s not bring triggered by bad teeth? I thought the pain I was having was TN, but now I am thinking it’s from those 2 infected teeth. My pain radiating across my jaw line, up into my ear, the right side of my face and wrapped around to the back of my head. It might not be a bad idea to see if you need some dental work also. Maybe that might take care of the TN? One day my pain was so bad my eye was watering as the pain affected all the way into that eye. Anyhow something to think about. Usually the pain will bypass the fear of going for me. J Also my son told me that you don’t always run a fever [which I never did] and the pain can go away and then come back. Which was what was happening to me. that’s why I didn’t think there was any infection. I was very fatigued and slept a lot though. That wasn’t like me. I just thought I was having a flare up of one of my illnesses. I’m feeling a little better now, but I still have to eat soft foods. We got the most wonderful egg flower soup from our favorite Chinese restaurant and its made with chunks of tofu and it’s so good. I’m hoping this antibiotic will hurry up and work. I don’t think she gave me a strong enough dose to start with, but on the other hand I seem to be able to tolerate it better at this lower dose. Its Azithromycin and it stays in your body up to a week after you stop. Which will be about the time I go back in to have the work done. Guess that’s my update too! Second WELCOME to the newcomers, I’m Jackie from Oregon and have had MS since 1981. But not dx’ed until 1994.Thirdly, I have got the mothers of all mothers of tooth pain and the whole right side of my face, ear, neck and jaw is so inflamed. It started at the beginning of this week and I thought it would resolve itself by now, but apparently it’s not going to. So I have a dentist appt. tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it as I am a big time dental phobic, and the last time I’ve been to one was 15 years ago. I’ve been lucky from then to now, making sure I flossed, brushed, and swished, but I should have known I still needed checkups. L So wish me luck it’s not too bad and won’t require a lot of return visits! Congratulations to all who had things happen in their lives this week that were good! J and prayers to those who need them including ME!! Hugs Jackie
