Guest guest
Hi, I read about boron in a recent digest. My son's boron also came out high, and his copper is high, too. The only fruit he has been eating is pears, and just in the last week we added back bananas. He only eats pears because of the lack of phenols in pears. Is not it ironic that the very thing will then increase his sensitivity to phenols? His Molybdenum came out very low. I remember reading something about it. Could somebody point me to any information that was collected about it on this board? His Potassium is also very high. His high copper causes his iron/copper ration be very low, which indicates susceptibility to anaemia, and he is often very pale. In fact after Zyme, he had a better complexion for a while, but now he is palish again. Now I have to go and solve this puzzle of how to put back balance into his body. What's more, I started to give him a multivitamin (Macro Multi M) suggested by the nutritionist, this brand apperantly is well tolerated by sensitive people. But he was more stimmy yesterday then for a long while. I will watch out for this sign, and stop the multi. I do not even believe in multi vitamins, their content is not balanced the way most individuals would need it, especially an ASD kid. Interestingly, the hair analysis lab gave a description of the conditions that could arise from the given mineral levels and ratios. They listed: tissue acidity hyperactivity hyperexcitable perspires easily allergies anemia depression The following are extracts from the report (InterClinical Laboratories, PO Box 630, Gladsville NSW 2111 Australia Ph: 612 9211 2200, email lab@...): Allergies and copper: The mineral copper is a contituent of the enzyme histaminasea nd the protein ceruloplasm, both of which have the ability to destroy histamine. Zinc is required for the storage of histamine. Since the zinc level is low to copper, or the tissue copper level is elevated, a low serum histamine may be present. This may result in histamine depletion if chronic. Low histamine levels have been found in teh serum of patients who suffer from allergies to food and inhalants. Depression and high copper: High tissue copper has been associated with an increased incidence of depression. The causative role of excess copper in depression may be due to its producing neurotransmitter imbalances in the brain, or its interfering with other nutrient minerals such as iron, zinc and manganese. Hyperactivity and excess copper: High tissue copper has been associated with hyperactivity, especially in the fast metabolizer (type of metabolizer is concluded from the mineral ratios). High copper is also associated with insomnia, temper tantrums and intermittent hyperactivity. I think I will start a new hobby (lol). I will collect all knowledge about minerals, vitamins and other nutrients and their cross influences on each other. The knowledge in this area sounds so incredibly scattered. Or maybe I just did not come across good research and good literature. Also, the knowledge of the allergy specialist and the nutritionist I work with, seems non-existent in this area. How can that be? Anyway, just another area where the only person you can trust is yourself. This pisses me off. We pay so much money on health care, but apart from the common cold, and some other common illnesses, what can they do for us? Not even that, I would not even follow the common cold treatments any more. I am more an more convinced that this whole ASD is a 100% metabolism issue. How do you compare that with the comment our child psychiatrist made to me after the diagnosis: " Ah, and those biological interventions... Do not believe in them, they are waste of time. This is a neurological condition (eg a brain damage), and it is there for life, it is not curable. " How come, my " brain damaged " child just made it to IQ 119 without making an effort to show up all his capabilities and his ATEC (or APEC?) score went down to 17 from 39 (and it must have been around 60 a couple of years ago) just from careful dieting, a couple of supplements (calcium/magnesium) and Zymeprime. We have not even done any of the more serious and promising interventions!!! Anyway, TELL ME ABOUT THE NO PHENOL. I constantly get the blank on this. Is it something that exists??? I even asked Devin, no answer... Guest guest
Elvira, Just wanted to say ditto to everything you wrote!!! And, I too would like to hear more about the No Phenol product. I imagine the info. is scarce because others may try to replicate this product. But, I'm very interested to hear what all it works on. God Bless (and keep up the good work!) Well, not on this board, but molybdenum has been helpful for some kids for phenol issues. http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/phenol.htm > > His Potassium is also very high. Bananas I believe are high potassium, so you might want to remove them again, or at least limit his eating of them. > > His high copper causes his iron/copper ration be very low, which > indicates > susceptibility to anaemia, and he is often very pale. [be sure to type the last Q on the end of this link, it is long] /files/Mercury-Autism%20FA Q > What's more, I started to give him a multivitamin (Macro Multi M) > suggested by > the nutritionist, this brand apperantly is well tolerated by sensitive > people. > But he was more stimmy yesterday then for a long while. Is it a children's chewable vitamin? If so, perhaps it is the flavors/colors, which are high phenol, which is causing your child to have problems. > > Anyway, just another area where the only person you can trust is > yourself. Yes > We have not even done any of the more serious and promising > interventions!!! My son's ATEC went from 98 to 26, and this was BEFORE chelation! > TELL ME ABOUT THE NO PHENOL. I constantly get the blank on this. Is it > something that exists??? I even asked Devin, no answer... Well Devin has not been answering me lately either, so don't take it too personally. I mean, I am the one who actually OFFERED HER KIDS AS INITIAL TEST SUBJECTS FOR NO-FENOL ENZYME, THEN SET UP THE TRIALS FOR IT SO HE COULD TEST IT WITH OTHER KIDS, so if he won't even answer *me*, then don't be too upset LOL [Hey Devin, where is my royalty check??????????????????? LOL, never mind, you are not answering me right now....] It is a new enzyme product, it helps my kids with many fruits [altho not all] and also artificial colors/flavors, plus medications which say " may cause excitability and sleeplessness, especially in children " . Wonderful stuff. Should be commercially available in April. Keep harrassing him, especially when April gets here. Dana
