Guest guest
Hi All: My daughter had her cardiology app't and it was rather a let down. This doctor does not have the clinic skills of a Dr. Grubb at all, and is definitely more a researcher than a clinician. The time was spent with history taking and no further tests or changes in medication were made by him as he preferred to continue with the regimen Dr. Grubb had initiated. I had expected him to be more informative re how the condition progresses or what we could expect, but he was not and did not make plans for further cardiac assessment. I did get the sense that if my daughter had not been on a medication regimen he would have initiated one, but he did not discuss other possible treatments or even lifestyle adjustments he thought might help. We have another app't in 6 weeks time. I was surprised that he did not examine my dtr.'s loose joints or even listen to heart sounds so this does not bode well as far as his depth of interest. Found the whole appointment rather confusing and with no real direction in what he deemed necessary as far a further investigation. I did learn that he is knowledgeable and cognizant about effects of dysautonomia and has facilities and ability to do tilt table testing and the monitoring that goes with it. I was disappointed that more information was not provided despite my numerous questions. He has only been at his present position and in Canada for 2 years, previously was in Columbia. I am hopefull that he will have a better handle on things when he has had time to digest the consult notes and chart info I provided him with, however he seems a very laid back kind of guy. Am disappointed that we did not receive further clarification re cardiac status and issues my dtr. has. Regards, Bernie

Let's hope things improve. Love Lana
