[OT] Digital Camera and storage during travel

Hi all,

Some of you have heard me say " when I just get that digital camera

sorted out " . I got myself one last summer, a HP Photosmart 320, just

a cheap, OK one, I guess - 2.1 mill pixels, I think. I could not get

pictures downloaded, and it has been sitting here for months, but

yesterday I finally found out what was the problem, and now it

downloads without any problems. It was a problem that was quite easy

to solve, but the manual did not mention this, so that was why it was

so difficult.

But... I got the camera only. I have no memory cards or anything. So

what am I going to do this summer when I go to the US? I wouldn't

like having to drag the computer with me, and I would like to be able

to take as many pictures as I would like, without having problems. I

could get a memory card for it, but how far does that really get me?

Would I need lots of them? The picture files are huge...

I know my boss got a little " box " which he downloads to. It functions

as a HD, I guess, but you can download directly to it without having

to have a computer with you. It is small and easy to take with you

everywhere and just connect it with the USB cable. I have no idea

what this thing is called.

I would like to find a nice solution, without it costing much at all... :)

What do you guys use, and how much did it cost? Such things are very

expensive here, I am sure I could get it cheaper in the US. Maybe I

could even find it on eBay and have it shipped e.g. to Sue Ginley, so

it is there for me when I get to the US (I'm visiting her before the

conference)...

Thankful for any input... :)

I am so happy that it works now, finally I can get some pictures of

Peanut taken to share... :) Tried it out last night outside... :)

Aase Marit :)
