Guest guest
Hi Jacqui I just wanted to say good luck for the 21st! I'll be thinking of you. Can I ask?.... was your OS concerned at all about resurfacing due to the CHD? I keep getting conflicting reports on whether its a good idea because the joint isn't normal. From what I've read I do have faith in resurfacing, I'm just weighing up the pros and cons over whether to go down the osteotomy route first. Take care and good luck again! Guest guest
Hi Becky Earlier, I e-mailed your e-mail address instead of posting it here (don't suppose it really matters), have you read it yet? In answer to your qus, my OS said that even though my joint is a dodgy shape, I am still fine for resurfacing. He had no worries in that dept, his only concerns were that I am young and he said the longer you can keep your natural hip the better because once you have an artifical one, you can never go back. I've weighed it up though and my 20s are being wasted at the moment with all the pain I'm in so it will be worth it for both of us I'm sure. Plus let's say it lasts us 15 yrs, that takes us to about 40, then we have a hip replacement which should last us til we are 60 (maybe longer due to technological advancements???) then hopefully just one more. Surgeon didnt offer me osteotomy as realigning my femur would not alter the fact that damaged joint is still damaged and therefore causing me pain. Are you in pain? Do you limp? PS If you e-mail me back my e-mail to you, I can post it on here if you want. I just joined tonight and didnt know what to do!
