Guest guest Posted September 30, 2011 Report Share Posted September 30, 2011 South EMS (county around the city of Abilene) is hiring 6 full time and possibly some PRN personnel to gear up to full time staffing. While we are retaining our volunteer service, we are now stepping up to cover a more significant portion of County. To do so, we must put on a 24/7 911 MICU capable unit. We are hiring Basics, Intermediates and Paramedics to cover these positions. The payscale will be competitive based on similar positions in this part of Texas. Standards of Care Guidelines for STEMS are progressive and " up to date " , meeting and exceeding national standards for all certification levels. Successful applicants will be positive, motivated and capable EMS professionals with good work ethic, ability to function as a team, and the ability to make critical and sound patient care decisions. One successful applicant will be offered a crew supervisory position with the primary responsibility fo ensuring crew coverage, equipment and supply availability, and other basic aspects of general operations. STEMS is looking for personnel who hold current and active TDSHS EMS certification/licensure and current cards in the following areas: a. Healthcare Provider CPR b. ACLS (for Advanced applicants) c. A Trauma course (PHTLS, BTLS, or other) d. A Pediatric Course (PALS, APLS, etc.) e. Candidates who pass the first screen will be scheduled for the interview and testing process with the STEMS Hiring Committee at a date not yet determined but that will most likely be prior to October 11th, 2011. This date will be shared with all candidates by email as SOON as it is set; however, only applicants who make the first " cut " will be scheduled for an interview and cognitive exam.
