Tried the new migraine medication

Well, I tried the new migraine medication that my neuro sent home with me.  I was skeptical, because it was Imitrex, which is known to cause seizures, and which didn't work for me before, and and naprosyn.  Had a migraine yesterday, so I took it.  I had to call the doctor's office because within about 10 minutes of taking it (very fast acting), I felt like I was going to have a seizure.  That feeling lasted for about 7 hours.  And the worst part is, it didn't even work.  There was some relief, but I think that was provided by the naprosyn in it.  So his advice, since I don't get them that often, is to take the Fioricet and either naprosyn or ibuprofen, despite my pcp's objections to nsaid's.  So that's that.  I guess when I see my pcp again, I'll ask her for a cox II inhibitor or something, so I'm not getting as much irritation.  I've been sneaking ibuprofen anyway, and feel guilty about it.

Yeah, it scared me to death!  Hubby said even if it had worked, he would not allow me to take it because of the way my body reacted.  I was in total agreement with him!Tina

My daughter-in-law suffers from migraines.  One time she went to her docs office and her gave her a shot of Imitrex.  Her blood pressure dropped so fast she fell to the floor.  Needless to say, she has never tried that drug again!  lol
