Hi,

I saw someone post the other day mentioning the Waterpik, which

seemed very nice and useful with periodontal disease. I have never

seen any oral irrigators in stores here and if they had them, they

would be very expensive, as even a Braun electric toothbrush of 3D

types are around $200 and over. So I looked around a bit on the net

the other day, and found out that there's several combination system

with a toothbrush and an irrigator as well. Slightly different than

the Waterpik, the attachment is different and uses a mini turbine

which sends out water (or any solution you choose instead) mixed with

air under high pressure to remove plak and bacteria, above and under

the gumline. I have used a Braun toothbrush for years, I am very

used to it and totally happy with it. But lately it seems like the

battery is shot, and that means I will have to get a new one anytime

soon. It seems like a Braun Oral-B 3D OxyJet Center with both the

brush and the oral irrigator is cheaper on eBay Germany than it is in

the stores here for the toothbrush only (would have to get this from

Europe, to get the 230V charger, can't use a converter in the

bathroom)... So I was considering maybe getting that instead of just

the toothbrush, it would be nicer to have both things in one device,

as I have limited space for such things in my bathroom. And parts for

a Braun I can get easily, at least the toothbrushes, while parts for

a Waterpik I would have had to order from the US. One especially

interesting feature with the Waterpik though, is that you can

actually get a Sinus irrigator attachment for it too, must be

wonderful for all of us who have sinus problems...

Do any of you use or have experience with the OxyJet? What do you

think about it? The one I looked at, is the one which is the first

one on this page:

Thanks for any input!

Aase Marit :)
