Guest guest
Warning: Don't wait to resurface, if you can!!!! I just met with Dr. Gross today, and he said my bone is in too bad of shape to do resurfacing, but if I had come back in December, when my first x-rays were taken, I could have. If you have the chance, take it. I don't want anyone of you to ever go throught the disappointment that I have now. The bright side: Dr. Gross is an expert, up on all the latest technology. He is going to do a total hip, as comparable to a resurf as possible. Metal on Metal, a 35mm bearing. He thinks it should last almost as long. The only major difference will be my range of motion. I go in tomorrow a.m. No more fights with insurance. Best of luck to you all. Thank you for being here. Signing off,
Guest guest
, I feel for you so deeply. My X-Ray packet for Dr. Gross is sitting on my counter for the past 6 months. I have been threatening to send it out for as long. I heed your warning, I will send it out tomorrow. Everything I have heard about and from Dr. Gross' group inspires confidence. You are still getting a good implant and it will be right for you. Please keep us posted on your progress. I cannot imagine your disappointment. I have been reading your posts and cheering for you all the way, just as I have for Steve, and everyone else here. Guest guest
, Some friendly advice: Do NOT get a THR without first asking Dr. De Smet about your condition. He has resurfaced hips deemed impossible by many of the otherwise excellent resufacing surgeons discussed by the members of this newsgroup. Jim V.S.
