These are totally online courses and the BAAS (both disciplines) and the Certificate in Emergency Management are attainable through all online classes. Non-New Mexico residents may take up to 6 hours at resident rates. EMSM 320 EMS Management and Leadership (3). An introduction to and study of principles and methods used in leadership and management of personnel within EMS systems. Includes leadership principles to improve working with front line staff, the public and the media. EMGT 302 Foundations of Emergency Management (3). History of the profession; contemporary emergency management concepts, functions, and practices for government, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector; underlying physical concepts. EMGT 310 Disaster Response (3). Context of disaster response, response functions, assessment, resource mobilization and adjudication, and emergency operations center (EOC) operations.
