Guest guest
HI all, Today I Went to a new family practitioner/internal medicine doctor. He was absoluteoly awesome. HE ordered all these tests that he said should be done every year on me such as seeing an opthamologist to check for detatched retinas. He himelf had one with no pain or symptoms. He also ordered me an ultrascan of the abdoman.aorta area and best of all he thinks I need a special triple phase CT scan of my ankle. He says that is the only test that will show whether the osteomyletis is still active in the bone. Does anyone know the difference between a triple phase CT scan and a regular one? This dr also gave me my monthly meds and will help me out with the pain meds till i get back into a pain clinic. He also wants to follow my belly problems closely. Also intends to keep an eye on my MVP. It's funny because I got this doctor because he was the only one who took medicaid in my area. Right now I am in an area that is quite well off and most Dr's wouldn't accept the medicaid or medicare. In fact my brother's doctor only takes cash now and doesn't even take any insurance. Anyway , it's funny how I lucked out with this doctor. I went in and this was my first visit and he spent over 45 minutes talking to me. If he had a question or concern about EDS he asked me and even went out to get textbooks a few times. He admitted I was the first EDSer ever including med school but he was willing to learn and help me whatever way he could. When I got to the office I didn't have to wait as the appointment time was just for me and there was no running from patient to patient. What a breath of fresh air! Just when I was begining to give up hope in the medical profession. if anyone lives in the Bucks County, PA area and needs a great PCP or internist I'd be more then happy to pass this doctors name on. Ya know maybe we should invent an anti-shock-doc for the few rare moments like this when a doctor does everything they can and more for a patient? There should be an award for this kind or wonderful caring doctor that isn't as abundant as in years past. Just had to share the good as well. Goodnight!
