Education:                    High School Diploma or General

Education Degree

(GED);           Degree of Higher Education preferred

Experience:                   2+ years related supervisory

experience and/or

training preferably in the communications division of and emergency medical

transportation service.

Age:                             Candidate must be

at least 21 years of age.

Certification(s):              Position requires EMT (any level)

certification

in good standing with Texas Department of Human Service. Current AHA CPR

Provider Card. Completion and Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher

per the Texas Department of Health or equivalent is preferred.

Management, Labor/Employee Relations, Fiscal Responsibility, Clinical

Excellence, Quality Assurance and Customer Service  Ability to type a minimum

of

35 words per minute.

Performs as shift supervisor/lead dispatcher for any assigned shift within the

Communications Center.  Provides supervision of subordinate personnel, to

include the assignment of duties, evaluations, etc.  Receives and dispatches

routine and emergency telephone calls and radio communications  from and to

customers, citizens, units, fire, rescue or other public safety agencies as

apply.  Operates a variety of communications equipment, operates an electronic

telephone console, receives emergency calls. Maintains records and logs of all

radio transmissions, telephone calls and other records, files information

systems as required by Administration.  Types information on a computer

keyboard

to process or update information accurately.  Operates and maintains

information

on personnel and vehicles through related database systems.
