July 31st- LA picnic- Great opportunity for future hippies

I went to Rustic Canyon park (AKA UPLIFTER'S RANCH) this morning at 10am and no

one was there yet. However, Darren at the park said a party of 40 had already

reserved a section on the 31st. I'm thinking I will pay the $60 to reserve a

section

too, just to make sure we have enough tables. I'll be sending out emails to get

a

head count this weekend, or if you haven't already done so, please email me

directly

with the number of people in your party. So far, we have 10-12 not including

friends

and families.

There is parking in the lot above the park and some parking along the streets in

the

neighborhood, but I would still encourage people to come early to grab the good

spots. From the lot there is a fairly short walk down a sloping ramp that leads

to the

picnic areas. Darren said he would let people who have trouble carrying things

drive

down and drop them off, then come back up and park.

The park rules are the usual no alcohol, dogs on a leash etc.

I figured we'd start at 10 and go until whenever. There's lots to do: tennis,

basketball, children's playground, bbq's, and pool up near the parking lot.

Feel free

to bring musical instruments for a jam session too!
