Guest guest
Hi From my experience, you sound to be doing very well...if possible, it would be good for you to also rest for a little while during the day when it aches...not just increase the painkillers. All the best. ine LHS April 2003, RHS March 2004 > well i am now 11 days post surgury > My question is about peoples experience with pain in the hip > > I find that in the morning and early afternoon i feel geat > but by late afternoon i have this strong aching feeling many of the > days. > > I have to up my dose of 1 percoset every 6 hrs > to 2 every 4 hours or more > sometimes a valium too. > and then i feel ok > > is this typical for this stage of healing > > my activities are the typical bed exercises, > a little walking on my crutches > and getting in and out of a car > and maybe a short walk inside of a store. > thanks for your experiences > steven
Guest guest
: You do realize that 11 days out is really REALLY early to be pain-free. Your body has been through a major trauma and it is not uncommon to feel discomfort. The fact that you feel great for most of the day is wonderful. But heed your body if it gets tired and sore by the late afternoon. It may be telling you that you are trying to do " too much " . If you are getting sore in the late PM, then try taking it verrrry easy for the rest of the day. Guest guest
The worst thing I did to my body when it was healing from my HR was to take narcotics in order to " gut it out. " If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have taken anything after immediate post-op. This is one of those times when your body is giving you pain signals for a reason. It is healing; do yourself a favor and let it do just that! Sincerely, pain expectations well i am now 11 days post surgury My question is about peoples experience with pain in the hip I find that in the morning and early afternoon i feel geat but by late afternoon i have this strong aching feeling many of the days.
