I got me an ulcer! CEDAfamily buttons last call

Just a quick note to tell you all that I am finally up for air today.

It has been a rough several weeks.

I've been sicker than a dog. not sure why.. I thought I was getting an ulcer

as I was having increasing symptoms. I mentioned it to my doc but it just

went past him.

Actually.. He was NOT listening to me but I like him and trust him so much I

let it go.

He was concentrating on the pain/sleeping medications issue so much he was

just not tuning in.

See. even EYE. the master of teaching patient/physician communication (in my

former life) can get caught up by the " patient silly putty " syndrome!

I was bowing to his diagnosis instead of pushing what EYE thought was going

on.

Finally. I sucked it up and went in there and said. " Dr. , I need you to

listen to me. I think I have an ulcer. I have been diagnosed with an ulcer

3 times in my life and I have the same symptoms as those times. I know you

are concentration on trying to get my meds straight but that is all for not

if I cannot keep them in my stomach. "

He perked right up and went into action. He ordered an apt for scope that

day, diagnosis and meds that night (no dx for helicobacter (sp?) yet). I

can't say that I feel any better yet but at least now I know why I have been

feeling so just awful for so long,

DX - duodenal ulcer.

Why?

Divorce/financial trouble/sick of being sick/

Oh that would have been easy!

Really it is no more complicated than the fact that I have overactive

gastric juices and have taken anti anti-inflammatory meds, had cortisone

injections and lots of Advil since shoulder injury.

Yuck!

Apparently the last injections of cortisone for shoulder put the last nail

in the lid of an already brewing ulcer.

Fine! So I am on a disgusting diet. still not loosing weight however and

that is a shock since I have not been able to keep much down. I should be

as skinny as a stick but the sleeping pills have slowed my metabolism so

much I simply can't loose right now.

So anyway. I have felt like crap for so long that nothing has gotten done

around here. I have not even gotten out to the mall to look for new

sneakers and maybe a dress for the conference AND I have NOT ordered the

CEDAsister/CEDAbrother pins yet.

Since I will be doing that today I am sending out a last call for anyone who

wants me to order a button for them. By the way. I have several people who

are ordering a button and are not attending the EDNF conferences so don't

think that you can only order if you are attending.

Let me know by the end of the day.

Oh Debbi,

This is terrible news! You are just going to have to remove some of the

stressors in your life now and listen to yourself.

Hang in there, will you be well enough to make it to the conference?

I am taking it easy now so that I will be able to get to the conference. I

don't know that I will make it to all the lectures but I am sure going to

give it a good try.

I am hoping some of the stressors will be gone once I can get rid of the car

that my ex is driving. in my name and I have to pay for a bunch of stuff on

it that I cant afford. This gone, I will feel better I am sure. Finances

are always a bad stomach issue with me!
