Guest guest Posted November 15, 2011 Report Share Posted November 15, 2011 TETAF Announces Interim EMS Division Chair Ed Racht, M.D. , long-time TETAF Board Member, recently announced his resignation as Chair of the TETAF EMS Division. recently was named the new Fire Chief for the City of Ferris and Ellis County ESD #5. With his new position he will be focusing on his new job, but look forward to his continued support and involvement with TETAF in the months to come. Thank you to for his many years of dedication to TETAF! With 's resignation, Chair Jorie Klein appointed Ed Racht, M.D. to fill the role as EMS Division Chair and Dr. Racht has graciously accepted. Many of you know Dr. Racht for the years of service he gave as the Chair of GETAC until 2008. Dr. Racht has recently re-located to Austin as the Chief Medical Officer for American Medical Response (AMR). Dr. Racht has been an emergency medical services physician and educator for more than 20 years. Prior to joining AMR, Dr. Racht served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer for Piedmont Newnan Hospital in metro Atlanta. He also served as the Medical Director of the Austin / County Emergency Medical Services System (Texas). Due to a previous commitment on Saturday Dr. Racht will not be able to join the TETAF meeting on Saturday but do look for him around GETAC and the EMS Conference Sunday and throughout the remainder of the week. TETAF is thrilled to have Dr. Racht's leadership as the EMS Division Chair! TETAF General Meeting November 19 TETAF will hold its General Meeting this Saturday, November 19, 2011, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Austin Hilton. Appetizers will be served. TETAF Divisions will begin meeting at 5:00 p.m. or as soon as the GETAC Injury Prevention Committee Meeting concludes. The one exception is that instead of meeting this weekend the TETAF Acute Care Division will meet via conference call this Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. Details on the meeting will be posted to the TETAF website.
