Guest guest Posted November 11, 2011 Report Share Posted November 11, 2011 This position is responsible for the administration of the EMS program and functions as one of the EMS faculty. This is a 12-month contract position. Essential Duties: 1.Manages EMS program fiscal affairs and is the direct custodian of the EMS program budget and approves equipment and supply purchases for the program at the appropriate level (development and management). 2. Supervises all EMS faculty and staff and assures appropriate paperwork is completed for and/or by them in a timely manner. 3. Delegates program duties such as administrative work and teaching loads to EMS faculty and staff and monitors their progress. 4. Assures completion and quality of all required national, state, college, and departmental paperwork in a timely manner and attends and participates in meetings and committees as required. 5. The EMS Coordinator is responsible for monitoring whether teaching faculty are current on all necessary certification or not. 6. Recruiting new faculty and initiating hiring process when required. 7. Maintains appropriate program accreditations and all associated records. 8. Maintains appropriate teaching load as assigned by the college with all the associated duties of lead instructor for assigned classes. 9. Approves all EMS course materials and schedules with working knowledge of curriculum development. 10. Initiates program assessment and curriculum evaluations in conjunction with appropriate EMS faculty 11. Serves as program liaison with Program Medical Director, Texas Department of Health and other certifying or accrediting agencies as well as other Blinn College departments and administration. 12. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of TX DSHS, NAEMSE, CoAEMSP and National Registry accreditation requirements, 1 year teaching experience, 3 years EMS or related field experience, Bachelor's Degree in EMS or related field, CISM training at the basic level or higher, ACLS Instructor, PHTLS Instructor, BLS (CPR) Instructor Preferred Experience and Training: Some supervisory experience, Master's Degree in EMS or related health field, 2 years teaching experience with some being at the advanced level, TX DSHS EMS Coordinator Required License and Certifications: National Registry and Texas certified/licensed Paramedic (or ability to obtain Texas certification within 6 months or hire if out of state or National Registry only), certified EMS Instructor https://employment.blinn.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/search/SearchResults_css.jsp Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
