Guest guest
Hi everyone, I got a call from Sis today also, just before Cindy called. She wanted me to post this and ask if any of you have ever had something similar. My guess is probably not. Anyway, she began by telling me she went to the foot doctor today because she has dermatitis on her right foot. It's very bad, and isn't clearing up at all. It's to the point that the skin is peeling but the dermatitis isn't gone. She told me that years ago, she had Plantar Fasciitis so bad that it was removed. She had tumors in it.the SAME type of tumors that she had in her uterus. I asked her if they were the papules that are common with EDS, but they weren't, and she was told that they are hereditary and very rare (she couldn't remember the name of them). Anyway, in examining her foot, he told her she had an ingrown toenail that had become infected; and the doctor said she absolutely HAS to be over this before her neck fusion, and of course, she agreed! So, he gave her a few shots in the big toe to deaden it. Now here's the weird part! LOL-as if the tumors weren't! When he gave her the shots, it didn't really do a lot for the toe; HOWEVER, it DID numb her gums in her mouth!!!?!?!?!? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing???? She said she could taste it! She's to soak it in vinegar and Epsom salt and use Neosporin and keep off it. She said she'd never had one before, so she didn't know that's what it was. She figured the lady that does her pedicure just nicked something. She's just curious about the gums becoming numb and tasting the agent they used. If you've had anything happen like this, would you please email her and copy me? Her email is waltzacrosstexaswithme.at hotmail.com and mine is llchriste.at cox.net. Other than that, she's still wondering if her email is working as it should, and she's very tired. She's ready for the surgery to be done and over with, and concerned about it at the same time - as I am. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers along with Cindy and Dylan. Her surgery is September 9th. If you would like to send her a card (which I'm SURE she would absolutely LOVE!) please contact me and I will send you her address privately. .............. Now for me. Our counseling session was wonderful last night - hard, but wonderful. I wasn't sure how it was going, as last week it was just kind of introductory and we didn't really get 'into' much. But this week, we hit on some pretty hard issues. I was so afraid that one or both of us would become angry, or have hurt feelings, and wouldn't want to go back - but it didn't happen! Thank you God! She is very good at explaining to both of us, and sort of pointing out gently, some errors in thinking but without making anyone embarrassed or angry. Mike and I were both in tears at one point. One thing I DO know, is that we love each other and want this to work - so I'm very optimistic that it will, especially after yesterday. We were there 2 hours! I think she felt we were on a roll and didn't want to leave it in the middle. I'm just SO thankful that Mike is working on this with me! A lot of men wouldn't even consider counseling, so I give him a LOT of credit for going, AND for being willing to listen and try to change things. I'm not doing good physically right now. My right knee is really bothering me big time. I haven't done anything to it. It's right in the middle, below the kneecap. Also, I have this very strange twitching going on in my left hand, around my thumb (which I've always had problems with my thumbs). It's between the thumb and 1st finger, and the twitching only lasts a few seconds, and I would call it painful, but it drives me NUTS! Between the two things, it woke me at 4 a.m. and I was unable to get back to sleep even! So what say you about this?!?!?! Any ideas???? I even took a muscle relaxant thinking that it might help, but it didn't do much; and I also put on my silver ring splints, which didn't help either! UGH! I haven't done anything to THAT either!!! I have a weird thing too.usually the left side of my neck is the part that really hurts, but right now, it's the right side - it's very tight, and I know I'm having muscle spasms. My LEFT shoulder hurts like heck as well. I don't know if it's nerves or what - I have started the Buspar, but am not up to a regular dose yet. Could it be that I'm just worn out? Too tired??? Physically drained? I KNOW I'm that, but would it cause all these OTHER things to be going on????? If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them! Thanks for listening, for news about Cindy, Sis AND me! I know, I know..I'm a blabbermouth, always have been! I think I'm a loveable one though, and if I get on your nerves, you can just ignore me! LOL! All of YOU need to take care of yourselves, OK? Love Lana 0:-)
