Target audience: Paramedics, EMTs, and other health care professionals involved

in the acute evaluation, resuscitation and transportation of patients with acute

stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases.

Purpose: To educate emergent care givers in new concepts and techniques related

to the management of acute stroke and cerebrovascular disaster.

Learning objectives: At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be

able to:

1). appreciate the symptoms and signs of acute stroke and cerebrovascular

disaster

2). understand state-of-art emergent care and transportation of stroke patient

3). know endovascular and surgical options in the management of cerebrovascular

diseases.

Continuing education credit: CEUs will be awarded through UTSW Dept of Emergency

Medicine Education and the State of Texas to Paramedics and EMTs

Parking: free on-site parking.
