Guest guest
That's GREAT Cindy!!! :-) Love Lana 0 :-) Re: w/chair for Dylan Thanks Cindy, It's here! It took about an hour for it to be fitted just right. Then Dylan Zoomed down the driveway and nearly hit our boat parked there! :~O... But He laughed! He when right over the curb and into the street and took it full speed for about 60 FT. I never thought he'd take it out of the garage, he has this thing about being seen by the neighbors. The next door neighbor pulled up in her driveway and he followed right behind her and yelled " Hey you want to take it for a spin? " So,... so far so good. He likes to spin in circles with it. My neighbor friend and I will take it out and try it out after dinner. I'm hoping he joins us. I'm hoping he'll walk the dogs with me now. Thank for sharing in my excitement! Cindylouwho Re: Re: cindy re morphine? TJ/ w/chair for Dylan Cindylouwho, It's fantastic to hear Dylan's wheelchair is due to come anytime now! I hope with the growth spurt nearly at an end, the w/ch and pain med, he'll be able to feel so much better. It's not any fun to hurt like the dickens, etc, especially when everyone else your age is running around having a good time. Hugs~ Cindy H . Wisc. Guest guest
Thanks ladies. :~) It is exciting, well, for me anyway. Hope for getting him out there again. I'll be looking for ramps now, incase he'll accually go some where in it. It looks like it will fit in my van. I'll measure it later today to be sure. The thing is so tall! I'm wondering, should I see if this is covered under my homeowners insurance? Can it be insured if it stays at school 9 months out of the year? Something to look into I guess. The final total was $18,500. Between the primary insurance and Crippled Childrens insurance, the whole thing was covered. Neither insurance will cover the ramps. I hope to get him out in it today if it doesn't rain. But he drives like a maniac! I swear he does it on purpose to scare me. But it's nice to see him act like a kid again. :~) Cindylouwho
Guest guest
Hi Cindy, I'm so glad that the insurances covered it for him. Phew... You could try looking on ebay for some affordable ramps. Maybe someone here would have suggestions on a ramp they use that works? Hang in there Cindy! I hope this is the beggining of a new life for Dylan. Guest guest
That is the BEST news Cindy, if he is scaring you by how fast etc he goes then chances are he has accepeted it and is simply been a teenage boy, if he could he would be scaring you on a skateboard, scooter, inline skate or bike but for him it is his power chair that gives him this release and freedom, it was TRULY WONDERFUL to hear he actually went outside in it and let the neighbours see him and even brough attention to himself in it, by following the neighbour and calling out to her. Good Luck on having him now as a more normal teen and having him go out in the wide world in his chair. Sharon > Thanks ladies. :~) > It is exciting, well, for me anyway.
