Guest guest
I don't know Suzi, but I certainly think it would help by doing so. As soon as I figure out how to make a 180 lifestyle change, I'll let you know! lol I'm so much a control-freak-ish type A it's not funny. But I really do try to not " sweat the small stuff " ... and really it IS all small stuff. I just have to keep reminding myself of that lol > > So do you all think that we can find a way out of this mess by altering our minds and our lifestyles? > > ttyl > Suzi

Guest guest
I was////well am a Type A+ personality...I have had a partial hysterectomy, gall bladder removed, two surgeries on one very poor knee...none of that seemed to connect to the fibro. HOWEVER, I was in a nasty car crash.....my car become one with the center median of a major highway, after being cut off my a person driving a mercedes while taking on her cell phone. IT was raining, I tried to get out of the way and hydroplaned into the concrete median....the car was totaled, but I walked away without a scratch....but.....I'm thinking that was the start of my symptoms. MY DSO accuses me of trying to control the world. Well, that job is just too big and too tiring. That also aggrevated my fibro. So did coffee. I just gave it up last week....headaches gone now and I feel so much better, and have more energy....go figure. My stress levels now are through the roof now as is the pain. My sister has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's) desease, unfortunately in the advanced stages. She has lost use of her arms and hands completely. I look at her and thank God that I can complain about the pain of using my computer too much or too much needlework..... But I think that if you ask each member of the group you will find that many causes for this DD. Sorry I rambled.... Pam in PA

Guest guest
I hadn't had surgery prior to having FMS. I have had surgery before fibro and I have surgery since I have had fibro. I had my gall bladder out right after I developed tinnitus and I have Morton's Neuroma removed from my feet after fibro. I have had far to much surgery in my life. My daughter turned 45 today and has never had to have surgery of any kind except tonsils when she was 6 and the only thing she remembers is all of the toys and things that people that worked at the hospital gave to her. My Mother was a RN and she worked at the hospital and all of her friends brought gifts to her and to my son when he broke his wrist. So she remembers the good part but not the bad. Guest guest
Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. That disease has always scared me. I will be anxious to see my tests results come back and know that I don't have anything like that. I can't believe how rapidly I am feeling much worse and a lot weaker. I keep telling myself I just need a rest, but I can't keep up with the house, garden, kids, family business phone calls as it is. I don't know how I would ever get any rest in, except the few minutes I answer emails. I guess I would have to say that's done sitting on my duff. Guest guest
-I am a big worrier and always think the worst. I use to be a perfectionist, but have come to terms with that a little more due to having kids and sometimes especially during baseball season I cannot keep up. When I start on something I still tend to overdue it though. I feel alot of my problems come from never being able to relax. I think that is why I do not sleep well. I get so tensed up during the day it takes a while to relax at night. -- In @y..., " diaphanous_one " wrote: > I hadn't had surgery prior to having FMS. > > On that note, however, I was wondering how many of us are/were " type > A " personalities, general overachievers, worry-warts, etc. I grew up > very fast when I was still pretty young, and sometimes I wonder if my > body just couldn't keep up with the demands I've put on it, > physically, mentally and emotionally. Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry I haven't been on much in the last few days, work has been very busy. Just wanted to respond to the surgery/accident/type a discussion that is going on. As far as surgery, I've only had my wisdom teeth out. I have not been in a car accident, but I am extremely accident prone (heck falling out of a window and cracking your head open at 18 months really starts you out on that path, doesn't it?). I seem to hit my head a lot and I get bruises that I can't remember where they came from, yadda yadda yadda. I AM a type A personality, and an extreme worrier! Sometimes I think that if I could just stop worrying all the time my life would be so much easier!! I also have PTSD from being heavily abused, molested and raped as a child. By the time I was 6 I had seen all types of abuse: physical, mental, emotional and sexual. It's amazing how many people have had the same experiences with completely different outcomes in their lives, health, and personalities. Anywho, have a great weekend everyone!! I too overdue when I start a project. Right now I am working with getting my books on my computer and at first, I would work until my husband would tell me it was time to quit and often it was 1:00 in the morning. I am starting on the boxes in the garage and I am only doing a couple of boxes a day. One reason is that I have a flare that is the mother of all flares and my tinnitus has started to be bothersome and that is putting it mildly. I cannot relax. I am filled with tension all the time.
