Guest guest
Hi Everybody, I have been following this group now for close to 2 years and that was shortly after I learned of my AVN. I wasn't prepared to settle for having such extensive work done to my hips at the young age of 38. I am now nearing 41 in September and I also have a surgery date of Nov 22 with the Dr. using the C2K+ initially on my right side and then we can begin to plan for the left side. Like I said my age played such an important part in my making my decision in which direction to go. I had 2 options at my disposal and one was the VA Hospital in Dallas where I tried to convince them to consider using the resurfacing technique and I had no such luck as they insisted on a stem arthroplasty to which I wouldn't agree to. My other option was to look ahead 2 years and wait on my Medicare to come into effect and let them pay for the surgery while I would have to pay for the arthroplasty. I chose the medicare route and endured all the pain that goes along with it. Now all I can keep thinking about is Nov. 22 and the process that begins for me by having 2 sides done. I couldn't be happier about that and knowing that I will be fine and securing my confidence in that belong to all of the members of this fine group of people that come here to meet and talk about the same issues and scenarios that we all go thru. Actually I am not much on writing which is why I haven't chimed in earlier and besides I learn more by listening. Thank you all for being there and allowing me to hang out on the sidelines and listen, God Bless to all. JD Sumner
