Guest guest
Hi, I have had numerous ulcers and took both the H-pylori blood test as well as biopsies. They all came out negative, which wasn't much of a surprise. The conclusion was that my ulcers are caused by NSAIDS (to begin with, and after the first, my stomach hasn't been the same and I easily get new ulcers). Also we think that my EDS does play a role in this, that the stomach lining probably doesn't tolerate as much as it does in non-EDS people, because of the fragility of the tissues... So, I wouldn't be too surprised if I were you if your daughters blood test does come out negative. If it on the other hand should be positive, that is great news. It is after all quite easy to treat such problems caused by this bacteria, if she does test positive, there is a protocol of treatment to follow. And most people are very happy with the results, for quite a long time (you can get re-infected)... Hope it works out and that they find out what is causing your daughter's problems!!!!
